Straw Pellet Bedding

Getting started with Concord Straw Pellets is easy.

For a 12×12 stable use 6-8 bags to create the initial bed.

The straw pellets will break down under the horses hooves over a few days, alternatively you can add water to the pellets to speed up this process. The pellets will break down in to a fibre, creating a super comfy, cushioned bed.

Remove droppings daily and wet patches as they become visible.

On average you will use 1-2 bags per week to top up the bed.

The pellets will crumble as your horses walks on them making them super absorbent. They will swell approx uptp 7 x their original volume.

There is no need to wet them but if your pony is a bed eater its advisable to wet them a little to speed up the crumbling process so they won't eat them..

Add extra bedding when needed. On average 1 per week

Please note that 7.5 tonne lorries can only deliver up to 50 bags on a pallet due to the weight restriction on the tail lift, some depots will deliver full pallets on a 7.5 tonne lorry but please contact us to discuss prior to ordering.

Someone needs to be onsite to meet the driver so they know where to leave the pallet. The pallet will be taken off the lorry with a tail lift and moved into position using a pallet mover. The pallet mover can only be used on a firm flat surface not on stone or gravel.

If someone isn’t there to receive the pallet there there will be a charge by the delivery company. Whilst we understand circumstances can be out of your control, we do reserve the right to pass on any additional costs from the delivery company to you.

Please provide any additional delivery instructions and directions, size of lorry and a mobile contact number.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

The depots will contact you to book deliveries. This is another opportunity to discuss vehicle size, access restrictions, and any directions. 

Advise a convenient delivery day with the depot.

FURTHER INFORMATION:

• Pallet dimensions are 1.2m x 1m, the height of half a pallet is approx 1m and a full pallet approx 1.7-2m high.

• The pallets are shrink wrapped and can be stored outside with a waterproof cover.

• Deliveries can take up to 5-7 working days from ordering
